Its core competence is its knowledge and understanding of the principles and requirements of commercial agribusiness projects in the African environment and ability to mobilise skilled professionals and other role players that can add value, enhance profitability and ensure sustainability of interventions.

The ADC business model is a collaborative/team approach. We act as development coordinator and facilitator, integrating the products and services of various specialists and companies to deliver seamless development solutions and projects across Africa.
The ADC offers a holistic project development approach which covers the full project development cycle from the conceptual stage through the business plan/bankable document and finance raising stages to completion and putting the management in place. Because of our business orientation towards the practical implementation of the projects we propose, we have developed the skills in different parts of our Group to be able to maintain this
Our approach to preparing business plans for proposed projects is essentially a practical one. We start with the marketability of the products which the projects would produce, the potential viability of the project, how to structure it to make it attractive to financial sources and whether there is suitable management available. It is, in our view, pointless to focus primarily on economic empowerment and job creation because, if the project does not work, neither of the other two will happen.
The ADC’s role as technical partner and advisor would be to evaluate the crop production, irrigation and other resources and to, in the first instance, propose a scheme that optimises the use of the local natural resource base and integrate the various components of the relevant value chains, while minimising the impact on environment and demand for power. This involves the optimisation of farming, infrastructure and processing/value-adding layouts with respect to water supply, energy, transport and soils, and taking full account of maintaining the environmental conservation measures as identified in any pertinent Environmental Management Plans (EPM) that may be developed.
