At ACER,we live for one thing:
to harness our planet’s full environmental potential enabling mutual benefits for earth’s and man’s co-existence
For more than 20 years, we have achieved this through a number of services across the SADC region, further north into the
African continent and around the world; passionately executed by our experienced and knowledgeable staff.
Our main services include:
– Environmental assessments
– Environmental Management Programs (EMPr)
– EMPr compliance monitoring
– Vegetation surveys
– Ecological assessments and rehabilitation plans
– Wetland delineations and functional assessments
– Social impact assessments
– Resettlement planning and implementation
– Public participation programs
Man’s rapid development and impact on our world have resulted in the expansion and refinement of our services to include risk assessments, fauna and flora search and rescue, habitat recreation, indigenous plant nurseries and offset mitigation.
Our clients
Our clients are many and varied, and include, for example:
– Private sector (Sasol, Tronox KZN Sands, Mondi, Hydro SA
and BHP Billiton)
– Public sector (Government (national, provincial and local),
state-owned companies (Eskom, SANRAL and Transnet)
and national and provincial public entities (iSimangaliso

We have built our company on a foundation of
honesty and integrity, with a strong belief that
a transparent, open business relationship is key
to a project’s ultimate success and longevity.
Our policy of thinking hard about questions and
solutions rather than offering the ‘simple answer’
has put us in good stead with our clients, resulting
in a number of long-term relationships of which
we are very proud
With a collective experience of more than 75 years, ACER’s knowledge base is considerable. We have a strong, stable staff and we are committed to employment equity, BBBEE, skills development and, in particular, the training and mentoring of young professionals.
We believe business also involves social responsibility in the form of donations and pro bono work. Every year we identify a social project
to which we can contribute. Projects have included the environmental authorisation of two schools in the Kosi Bay area and an HIV facility near Eshowe, environmental management for the iSimangaliso Wetland Park’s sporting events, and the environmental authorisation and compliance monitoring of the Mtsila Causeway Bridge. Donations are many and varied, mostly focused on education, care for vulnerable people as well as for animals.
