Timbery: Start a profitable sawmilling business

PROMOTIONAL FEATURE | 6 MAY 2014

The recently launched Timbery M100 sawmill makes it even easier to start a profitable sawmilling business cutting timber for construction or resale purposes.

Timbery sawmills are easy to afford, built-tough to cut African hardwoods and jam-packed with features normally only found on larger, more expensive sawmills.

The M100 is aimed at the entry level sawmiller, tree feller or farmer who wants to turn felled timber into useable timber for resale or construction.

The M100, while designed for affordability, provides solid features that make the sawmilling process easier for low volume timber producers. Log capacity for the M100 is 660mm in diameter by just over three metres long. Additional 1.5 metre bed extensions allow longer logs to be cut.

The M100 comes with a 7 or 9 hp Subaru pull start petrol engines or 5 hp three phase electric motor. It also features a convenient clutch and throttle lever that engages both at the same time. An adjustable blade guide arm with ceramic guides provides for constant blade support that adds to the cut accuracy of the M100.

Head height is adjusted very easily with a hand crank. Once the sawmill is running, light pushing is all that is needed to cut through the log.

The M100's lightweight, easily-removed head and bolt-together adjustable bed provides for easy travel and storage options. It was also designed to keep shipping costs from the factory to the end-user as low as possible. For the M100, all sawmill components are packaged in a compact shipping box (1.6m x 0.5m x 1.0m at 280kg). Total assembly time is estimated to take two hours.

Timbery's service agents in Africa carry a range of spares with most wear and tear parts readily available from local suppliers.

Company overview

Timbery is a global, multinational company that manufactures and distributes a range of thin kerf narrow band sawmills. Timbery also manufactures their own narrow bandsaw blades for their mills and equipment to maintain their blades. Timbery's target market is the professional sawmiller with hobbyists also utilising the brand.

In March 2013, Timbery launched into Africa with the opening of their South African office headed up by Product Specialist, Mark Thompson. An uncomplicated range of three models, Timbery sawmills are either stationary or portable with electric or petrol power options.

The success of the Timbery range is in the simple yet effective operation of the mill. Affordable sawmills that are made to the highest standards, built with Africa in mind. Spares are inexpensive and wear and tear parts can be sourced locally. Height adjustment as well as forward and reverse feed through the log is done manually. This aids in keeping running and maintenance costs to a minimum.

The Timbery range of machines are supplied pre-assembled from factory in the USA, ready for shipping.
